Company Overview

From the early era of smelting to today’s age of advanced metallurgy, industry has continuously sought more efficient and environmentally responsible methods to treat slag. 


We have been at the forefront of this mission, guided by a clear and enduring objective: 

Value Creation from Byproducts

In 1995, Uneco invented Slag Atomization Technology (SAT)—a breakthrough process that converts molten steel slag into valuable industrial materials. In recognition of its innovation and environmental impact, the Korean government selected SAT as one of the “Ten Best New Technologies in Korea” in 1999.


Uneco's environmentally friendly technology enables steel producers to transform slag into a wide range of high-value products while reducing environmental burden. The company remains committed to deploying this unique technology across steelworks and other slag producers domestically and internationally with Insight R&D Inc., contributing to global sustainability through reliable performance and technical excellence.


In 2017, Uneco partnered with Insight R&D and Ecomaterials to help further develop their technology and applications outside of South Korea.
